Love is waiting

I think this may possibly be the most romantic song ever. It just sounds so real. So true. This is true love, I think. But I wouldn't really know. Because I've never been "in love". =) But one sweet day I shall be.
This song helps me so much to wait and be patient. "I'll give it time, give it space and be still for a spell, When it's time to walk that way we wanna walk it well...and like I can't force the sun to rise or hasten summer's start, neither should I rush my way into your heart." =)
I love this song!

"Love Is Waiting"

In the autumn on the ground,
between the traffic and the ordinary sounds
I am thinking signs and seasons while a north wind blows through
I watch as lovers pass me by
Walking stories - whos and hows and whys
Musing lazily on love
Pondering you
I'll give it time, give it space and be still for a spell
When it's time to walk that way we wanna walk it well

[CHORUS:]
I'll be waiting for you baby
I'll be holding back the darkest night
Love is waiting til we're ready, til it's right
Love is waiting

It's my caution not the cold
there's no other hand that i would rather hold
the climate changes, I'm singing for the strangers about you
don't keep time, slow the pace
Honey hold on if you can
the bets are getting surer now that you're my man

[CHORUS]
I'll be waiting for you baby
I'll be holding back the darkest night
Love is waiting till we're ready, till it's right
Love is waiting

[BRIDGE:]
I could write a million songs about the way you say my name
I could live a lifetime with you and then do it all again
and like I can't force the sun to rise or hasten summer's start,
neither should I rush my way into your heart

Today

Mom and Sarah left early this morning to drive Grandma Sparks down to Florida for the winter. They'll be home on Thursday. So I'll be playing "mom" at our house this week. =)

This morning I got up at a reasonable hour (7:30ish) to get ready for the day. I put dinner in the crock pot for the kids at home, and left for work with Jedi at 10. I vacuumed the house(Liv helped me=). I did laundry. Matched socks. Filled, ran, emptied and refilled the dishwasher. Played UNO with Mary while watching 102 Dalmatians. (Side note: I cannot stand lovey-dovey dog movies where the animals are more valued that humans. Drives me crazy!)

I laughed as I watched the VERY dramatic O'Quinn kids use their imaginations with Jedi. They played this one game for about two hours. Jedi and Olivia had to protect Mary, the princes, from the bad guy Wesley. They were so cute!

I smiled watching how tender my youngest brother, Jedi was with Mary, the 3 year old. Jedi isn't your average 7 year old. He is BIG for his age. He looks like a 9 or 10 year old. He is strong, but was so gentle with Mary. She simply adored Jedi and he loved playing with her.

I chased the kitten out of the Christmas tree...TWICE. Once with a broom, second time with my bare hands (hard core, right? ;-) After that I sat by the Christmas tree and read of the faithfulness of God in my life. I do love having a journal. It's a good way to get my thoughts out of my head.

And I sang Christmas songs and drank egg nog with Jedi on our way home. We didn't get home till 9:30! It was a long day. But a very good one.

Thank you, Lord.

Standing in the kitchen...

Standing in the kitchen listening to Nichole Nordeman singing gratitude to our Lord. The satisfying hum of a dishwasher. A dog laying at my feet. The sound of children playing in the basement. A fresh salad all ready for dinner. Clean dishes in the sink. A glass of lemon water in my hand. An apron hanging around my neck.

It's a wonderful feeling. =)

Psalm 81:6-16

Psalm 81:6-16
"I relieved your shoulder of the burden;
your hands were freed from the
basket.
In distress you called, and I delivered
you;
I answered you in the secret place of
thunder;
I tested you at the waters of Meribah.
Selah
Hear, O my people, while I admonish
you!
O Israel, if you would but listen to
me!
There shall be no strange god among
you;
you shall not bow down to a foreign
god.
I am the LORD your God,
who brought you up out of the land
of Egypt.
Open your mouth wide, and I will
fill it.

But my people did not listen to my
voice;
Israel would not submit to me.
So I gave them over to their stubborn
hearts,
to follow their own counsels.
Oh, that my people would listen to me,
that Israel would walk in my ways!
I would soon subdue their enemies
and turn my hand against their foes,
Those who hate the Lord would cringe
toward him,
and their fate would last forever.
But he would feed you with the finest
of the wheat,
and with honey from the rock I would
satisfy you."

I am reading through the Psalms, and it continually tells of how the Lord deals with the wicked. I am seeing more and more how desperately wicked my heart is. Yet, though I am so unbearably wicked, my Lord is so gentle and kind, compassionate and loving toward me. I never feel him burn his Holy anger against me.

And I am always complaining.

Thank you Father, for sending us your perfect gift, your Son Jesus Christ. And thank you Jesus for submitting to the Father, even unto death.

May I glorify you in all that I do. I confess I can do all things through your strength ALONE, for I am NOTHING without you.

Psalm 73

"Truly God is good to Israel,
to those who are pure in heart.
But as for me, my feet had almost
stumbled,
my steps had nearly slipped.
For I was envious of the arrogant
when I saw the prosperity of the
wicked.
For they have no pangs until death;
their bodies are fat and sleek.
They are not in trouble as others are;
they are not stricken like the rest of
mankind.
Therefore pride is their necklace;
violence covers them as a garment
Their eyes swell out through fatness;
their hearts overflow with follies.
They scoff and speak with malice;
loftily they threaten oppression.
They set their mouths against the
heavens,
and their tongues struts through the
earth.
Therefore his people turn back to them,
and find no fault in them.
And they say, "How can God know?
Is there knowledge in the Most High?"
Behold these are the wicked;
always at ease, they increase in riches.
All in vain have I kept my heart clean
and washed my hands in innocence.
For all the day long I have been stricken
and rebuked every morning.
If I had said, "I will speak thus,"
I would have betrayed the generation
of your children.

But when I thought how to understand
this,
it seemed to me a wearisome task,
until I went into the sanctuary of God;
then I discerned their end.

Truly you set them in slippery places;
you make them fall to ruin.
How they are destroyed in a moment,
swept away utterly by terrors!
Like a dream when one awakes,
O Lord, when you rouse yourself, you
despise them as phantoms,
When my soul was embittered,
when I was pricked in heart,
I was brutish and ignorant;
I was like a beast toward you

Nevertheless, I am continually with you;
you hold my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will receive me to
glory.
Whom have i in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I
desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

For behold, those who are far from you
shall perish;
you put an end to everyone who is
unfaithful to you.
But for me it is good to be near God;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
that I may tell of all your works."

No matter how cute the shoe, if they're too small, don't wear them!

No matter how cute the shoe, if they're too small, don't wear them!
Mom bought some super cute black and gray flats yesterday and she was so kind and let me borrow them. Sweet huh? Well, they are size 8. I wear size 9. I only wore them for about 1 hour. But even so, I am now putting a bandage on my new, and rather painful blister. I haven't needed a bandage since March, I haven't had a blister in years!

By the way, dictionary.com = one-of the best websites ever! As I was doing bible with Wesley this afternoon, I looked up a bunch of names like Ahithophel on dictionary.com. Because I have no idea how to pronounce names like that. And dictionary.com has this nice little button that, when you press it, it says how to pronounce the word. iiii love it! :)

I love...

I love...Chia tea from Hyperion :: Leaves dancing across the road :: Orange-yellow sunsets with deep gray, rain filled clouds all around :: My friends who make me laugh :: My family who speak truth and remind me of the gospel :: And my God who is always with me, to hold me and guide me. Even when I forget, He is there, holding my hand and loving me.

Psalms 3

http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/song/Psalm_3/22645865

"Oh Lord, how many are my foes!
Many are rising against me;
many are saying of my soul,
there is no salvation for him in
God. Selah

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head.
I cried aloud to the Lord,
and he answered me from his
holy hill. Selah

I lay down and slept;
I woke again, for the Lord
sustained me.
I will not be afraid of many thousands of
people
who have set themselves against me
all around.

Arise, O Lord!
Save me, O my God!
For you strike all my enemies on the
cheek;
you bread the teeth of the wicked.

Salvation belongs to the Lord;
your blessing be on your
people!" Selah

Epic

I had an epic battle with the computer today. Epic. Hmm...what does that MEAN?? (From Dictionary.com: Epic - heroic; majestic; impressively great: the epic events of the war. of unusually great size or extent: a crime wave of epic proportions) OK.... Nope, I did not have an epic battle with the computer tonight. It just wouldn't listen to me. And that's all. BUT it sure FELT epic!!

"And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.'
"And he who was seated on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new.' Also he said, 'Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.'" - Revelation 21:2-5

How beautiful are the words of God! He is faithful. He is loving. Just look at what he has said: His dwelling place will be with man. God, will be with us! Living with us, dwelling with us. And we shall be his people and he our God.
His words are trustworthy and true. My heart sings for joy!

"Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!" Psalm 117

My Prayer For My Friends

These are verses that I pray over my friends :)

"And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, and giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." Colossians 1:9-14

So, I'm not really big on writing. In fact, I'm a horrible writer, and my grammar stinks . But not to worry. I think I'll mostly be posting quotes that I like on here.
I'm sorry if you find this blog incredibly boring, but you see, I'm not blogging so others can see what I write. I'm blogging so that I can remember funny or convicting things that people have said in the past. I may end up writing things of my own on here someday, but I make no promises.
Anyway, I hope you do enjoy what you read on here! :)
